Getting Rid of Odor on Blinds

Remove the blinds and sprinkle them with baking soda – then lay them flat on the floor. Allow the baking soda to soak in at an hour at the least – ideally over the night – and then vacuum the powder before rehanging them.

What is causing the smell on the blinds

If the blinds were recently replaced, the new vinyl might be letting out a bad smell when it gets warmed by the sun. solve this by washing them and then spraying them with a mixture of vinegar and water.

Can blinds smell on their own?

Removing blind odor

First combine a cup of water with a cup of baking soda – then soak a rag in this mixture. Using the rag, scrub both sides of the blind completely. Then soak a towel in vinegar and wring it – then soak another cloth in water. Using both of these wipe the blind down – then wipe it down with a clean and dry rag.

What is causing the smell in my faux wood blinds

PVC items can emit a ton of compounds in their first month or so of usage. We recommend purchasing faux wood blinds made of chemical safe and ideally organic materials.
