Here at Los Angeles Shades and Blinds, we understand the in’s and out’s of window treatments – and the way that window treatments not only can change the appearance of a room, but it’s quality of light, air flow, and even temperature levels! In this blog entry, our Los Angele shade and blind installation experts will provide you some excellent tips for how you can keep your home much cooler this Summer.
Insulation
Make sure thhat all exterior doors have weatherstripping around them to prevent hot air from getting in and cool air from getting out.
Exterior Home Adjustments
Try painting your home a lighter color to help it reflect light and heat. Install exterior shades and/or awnings that can block the sun from moving into your interiors. You can even plant trees and bushes by windows to place shade in sunny areas.
Dehumidifiers
We recommend purchasing a dehumidifier that can remove extra moisture from the air and leave you feeling much cooler.
Insulated Window Treatments
Install cellular shades on your windows. Cellular shades will create a thermal buffer between the rooms of your home, keeping heat out during the Summer, and keeping cool air inside.
