In this brief blog entry, the professional Los Angeles shutters, blinds, and shades installation team here at LA Shades and Blinds will detail the main things to expect from blinds installation service, and the order of the steps taken during the blinds installation process.
Scheduling Your Blinds Installation
After discussing your specific needs and project requirements – and choosing a specific blind model (or asking a service member to show you options on-site), we will schedule your blinds installation service at a convenient time for you.
Preparing for your Blinds Installation
We request for furniture to be removed from beneath windows where your window treatments will be installed. We recommend that bric-a-brac and high-value items – or large and bulky items that block room for ladders or installation personnel – to be moved to the side, or another room if possible.
Blinds Installation Process
Generally we can install between 4 and 6 window treatments in an hour, facturing in time to bring the product into your home, to install the window treatment, to remove trash in the area, and to sweep / vacuum the area after the installation process is completed.
Motorized Blind Installation
Motorized blinds will require somewhat more installation time. Remote shade installation usually takes faster than installation of smart blinds. We will ask for your personal input as to how you want the blind operation system to be programmed. You will need to make sure that you have an application downloaded on a phone or tablet, an account set up with the application supplier, and that we can access your WiFi system.
Smart Home Window Treatment Integration
We can help you link your blinds and window treatments with smart home systems like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home Kits, and much more. Many window treatments can be integrated with the broad variety of available home automation systems on the market like Crestron, Claire, Josh, Brilliant, Control4, and much more, but it will be up to you to double check with these suppliers as to whether the specific window treatment that you’re getting from us works with that system.
Hard-Wiring Window Treatment Systems
If we will have to hard-wire the blinds system to a power supply, we will need extra time to mount the power supply and attach connectors and manufacturer power supply to your existing low voltage connections. Additional wire pulling / wire laying work will need to be completed by a licensed electrician, ideally before drywall is hung and while you can access the wall cavity. However, we can discuss what options for hardwired blinds / window treatment systems are available to you based on your existing setup.
